PILATES

Pilates offers a variety of health and fitness benefits. The primary objective of Pilates is to put you in tune with your body by focusing on movements and breathing. Properly executing and controlling Pilates helps develop your core and gently stretches your body, which promotes flexibility; which is needed when you practice POLO . The gentle and low-impact nature of Pilates movements makes the exercise suitable for people of any age.

The core, or center of your body, benefits significantly from Pilates. Most Pilates movements engage your core muscles to some degree to help provide stability and balance for maintaining a pose or position. Your trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle all play an important role in properly executing Pilates movements. Muscles near the spine are also called into action during Pilates and can help develop a strong back, which can help alleviate back problems.These are parts of your body that required to be strong when you play POLO OR PRACTICE ANY OTHER EQUESTRIAN SPORT.

WEIGHTS

The benefits of lifting weights extend well beyond building bigger and stronger muscles. Weightlifting strengthens your bones and can help you stay active and healthy as you age. It increases your resting metabolic rate and can improve your cholesterol profile and reduce your risk of diabetes and heart disease.in my opinion weight lifting is the best thing you can do for your body, when you are into sports like POLO.Polo is a contact sport that requires strenght, and weights will give you that strenght.

Maintaining muscle mass is especially important as you grow older. Elderly individuals tend to lose muscle mass and strength. Lifting weights helps you maintain muscle mass and stay active as you age.

RUNNING & BIKING

I recommend running and biking to any of my fellow POLO players. It gives you great endurance, so can play or ride all day long, without any physical limitation.

One of the biggest benefits of running is that it's good for your health. Running is an excellent way to strengthen the heart and ensure the efficient flow of blood and oxygen throughout the body.Running and other weight-bearing exercises increase bone density, which can fend off osteoporosis, and also protect you against any serious fracture if falling off your horse.
